Job summary

The University of New Mexico-Gallup is seeking qualified temporary part-time adjunct faculty to teach lower-division courses at the Gallup Branch. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of their class, including meeting face-to-face, delivering content, developing assignments, grading, reporting grades, and assessing student learning as directed by the division chair.

Positions are contingent on enrollment and course offerings each semester, and contract renewals depend on department needs

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in American Studies, Anthropology, Geography, Linguistics, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or related field; or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in any of those fields previously listed
• Preferred qualifications: Doctorate degree in American Studies, Anthropology, Geography, Linguistics, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or related field, and college-level teaching experience
• Commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the university's mission to serve local and global communities

Responsibilities

• Teach lower division courses as specified; meet face-to-face with class during assigned times which may include evenings or weekends
• Deliver content, develop assignments, and grade assessments; report grades and assess student learning as outlined by the division chair
• Positions contingent upon enrollment and course offerings each semester; report to the division chair

Education
