Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to join its Geology pool to teach courses at Albemarle and other PVCC locations. The position may include teaching development and college-level geology, with potential distance-learning options.

Applicants should hold a Master’s in Geology (or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in Geology) and have at least two years of teaching or related field experience; online teaching experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required- Master’s in Geology or master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Geology.
• Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with on-line teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach developmental and/or college-level geology courses.
• Deliver distance-learning and/or online instruction as needed.
• Potentially teach at multiple PVCC locations including Albemarle sites.

Piedmont Virginia Community College ( PVCC ) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System ( VCCS ). The position may include teaching at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center in Greene County and correctional facilities in Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn.

We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas: GEOLOGY

KSA's/Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience.
Minimum education required- Master’s in Geology or master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Geology.
