JOB SUMMARY:
Student-focused Political Science Adjunct Faculty able to use Canvas and to teach face to face.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach at least 2 courses in accordance with university and departmental policies and procedures
- Prepare course content and syllabus
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance
- Organize class activities and assignments, relating to the overall learning outcomes of the course
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and or select course-related materials
MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in political science from an accredited educational institution
Minimum of two years teaching experience at a college or university levels
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in political science from an accredited educational institution
- Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction
- Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of university students
- Computer literate and able to navigate in Windows and Canvas software
- This position may be subject to a criminal background screening as a condition of employment
Physical Requirements:
- Working environment is a normal business office setting.
- Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity.
- Must be mobile throughout the campus.
- Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying light items.
