Job summary

Black Hawk College seeks a part-time adjunct OTA Program Instructor.

Faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing syllabi, developing lectures, and activities to enhance the students’ educational experience; develops evaluation methods; maintains equipment and instructional materials essential to the classroom.

Education requirements include an OTA AS degree or OT Master/PhD, with priority for teaching experience and proficiency in English for classroom instruction.

Qualifications

• Associates in Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or Master/Doctorate degree as an Occupational Therapist.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare syllabi and develop lectures, discussions, and activities to enhance student learning.
• Develop and execute methods of evaluating student performance.
• Develop, secure, and maintain equipment and instructional materials.

Description of Duties

Faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; by developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students’ educational experience; develops and executes appropriate methods of evaluating students’ performance; develops, secures, and maintains the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.

Education & Experience

Associates in Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or Masters/Doctorate degree as a Occupational Therapist. Prior teaching experience preferred. Must possess demonstrated oral English Proficiency for classroom instruction.

Pay

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum starting pay for adjunct faculty (as of Fall 2026)

Less Than a Master's Degree = $739.16 per equated hour

Master's Degree = $862.35 per equated hour

Doctorate = $923.95 per equated hour
