Qualifications include a Ph.D. in the field or related area, an AHIMA credential (ACTIVE RHIT/RHIS), and the ability to teach online.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Master’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Management, Health Informatics & Analytics, or related field AHIMA Credential; ACTIVE RHIT or RHIS credential.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, Health Informatics or related field; and AHIMA Credential; ACTIVE RHIT or RHIS credential. Also required is the ability to teach online successfully.

Responsibilities

• Teach Health Information Technology courses online and/or in person.
• Provide guidance to adjunct students and monitor course progress.
• Adhere to college policies and online teaching best practices.

Education

Ph.D. in Health Information Management or related field

Master’s degree in Health Information Management / Health Care Management / Health Informatics or related field

AHIMA Credential; ACTIVE RHIT or RHIS credential

• Fall II Session: January 4, 2027 – February 24, 2027

Adjunct faculty will be responsible for teaching and providing guidance related to the following courses:

• Introduction to HIT
• Legal and Ethical Aspects of Healthcare
• Medical Terminology
• Quality Assessment and Statistics
• Principles of Healthcare Reimbursement
• Introduction to CPT/HCPCS Coding
• Clinical Classification Systems: ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding

Qualifications

For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Master’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Management, Health Informatics & Analytics, or related field AHIMA Credential; ACTIVE RHIT or RHIS credential. Also required is the ability to teach online successfully.

For Adjunct Lecturer

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, Health Informatics or related field; and AHIMA Credential; ACTIVE RHIT or RHIS credential. Also required is the ability to teach online successfully.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess teaching and/or work expertise in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, Health Informatics or related fields. Experience teaching in a community college. Demonstrated ability in most of the following:
• Teaching students of diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic and educational backgrounds
• Active, student-centered pedagogy and significant student mentoring experience
• Use effective technology-based strategies that enable the success of all students, including, but not limited to, the use of Brightspace and Navigate360

Compensation

Adjunct Lecturer: $116.44 per hour

Adjunct Assistant Professor: $125.06 per hour

Adjunct Associate Professor: $133.69 per hour

Adjunct Professor: $142.31 per hour

Commensurate With Qualifications And Experience.
