Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses on a part-time basis for the Spring semester, January to March. Responsibilities include teaching, providing syllabi, maintaining records, and assisting students, with use of Canvas and PowerPoint as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in music or a related field with specific music credits; you will be on campus in Sellersburg, IN, evenings 6–8:45 p.m. on select days.

• Earned master's or higher degree in any field with 18 graduate semester credit hours in music.

• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
• Submits requested information within established timelines.
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
• Uses technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
• In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
• Promote same as an integral part of one's work.
• Is available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
• Deal with student concerns and consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.

Program Operation

• Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
• Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
• Submits requested information within established timelines.

• Is available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
• Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

Minimum Qualification (from ASOM 7.1)

• Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in music or
• Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester credit hours in music.

Work hours & location: Spring semester (January to March), Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8:45 p.m. on campus
