Job Description

Developmental Mathematics – Locations: Lynn and Danvers campuses, offered during day and evening sessions. Courses cover foundational mathematics skills, including numeracy, mathematical thinking and investigations, proportional reasoning, personal financial applications, fundamental algebraic reasoning, and basic algebraic concepts to prepare students for college‑level mathematics in STEM/Business pathways. Technology and real‑life applications are integrated throughout.

College‑Level Statistics and Support for Statistics – Locations: Lynn and Danvers campuses, day and evening. An introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics, basic laws of probability as used in business, social science, or education. Topics include frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and dispersion, normal distributions, confidence intervals, sampling, hypothesis testing, correlation, linear regression, and when time permits, chi‑square and F‑distribution. Emphasizes practical understanding and application; statistical software may be used at the instructor’s discretion. Fulfills open, liberal arts, and mathematics electives. The corequisite course “Support for Statistics” strengthens mathematics skills needed for success in college‑level MAT 143.

Salary

Non‑benefited position. Minimum salary is $1,397 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • A Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field with significant graduate coursework in mathematics is required.
  • Teaching experience in higher education and/or at the community college level is preferred.
  • Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into the curriculum is preferred.
  • Teaching experience with corequisite course models is preferred.
  • A commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body is also required.
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
