WSU Tech is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Machining Technology program at the NCAT Campus. This part-time role focuses on delivering instruction in manual and CNC machining and preparing students for careers in machining and manufacturing.

You will teach theory and hands-on skills, develop curriculum, assess student performance, and collaborate with full-time faculty and industry partners. Associates degree or higher preferred; 4+ years industry experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred from accredited institution.
  • 4+ years industry experience in machining including CNC and manual.
  • Teaching or training experience in technical or adult education preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and hands-on instruction in machining technology courses.
  • Assist in curriculum development and updating course materials according to industry standards.

  • Compensation $32/hr

Overview / Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty in Machining Technology will provide part-time instructional support in the machining fields, including manual and CNC machining processes. This position involves teaching theory and hands-on techniques to help students develop the skills necessary to excel in the machining industry.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering lectures and hands-on instruction in machining technology courses.
  • Assisting in curriculum development and updating course materials according to industry standards.
  • Evaluating student performance, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensuring the proper use and maintenance of machining tools and equipment during lab sessions.

Education:

  • Associates Degree or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution, preferred.

Experience & Skills:

  • Industry experience in machining technology, including CNC and manual machining, typically 4+ years, preferred.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in technical or adult education, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, safety practices, and machine tool operation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with computers and common software applications used in education.
