Job summary

The University of the Potomac is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as an Adjunct Faculty member in our Education program. The successful candidate will combine practical knowledge with academic instruction that is aligned with real-world operational practices.

This position will be responsible for teaching courses as assigned, developing and accessing curriculum, participating in departmental meetings, and staying current in the discipline through professional development

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 2+ years; doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years college teaching experience.
  • Data analysis concepts and tools knowledge.
  • Strong Excel data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail and academic communication.
  • Experience with Canvas LMS and instructional tech.
  • Ability to manage multiple teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses on campus and/or online.
  • Provide timely feedback and monitor student progress.
  • Assist with curriculum development to maintain relevance.
  • Ensure policies, accreditation standards, and state/federal requirements are met.

Job Title: Adjunct Faculty in Education

Department: Academic Operations

Reports To: Department Chair of Graduate Studies and Academic Operations

Location: On-Site DC/VA Campus

Position Summary

The University of the Potomac is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as an Adjunct Faculty member in our Education program. The successful candidate will combine practical knowledge with academic instruction that is aligned with real-world operational practices. This position will be responsible for teaching courses as assigned, developing and accessing curriculum, participating in departmental meetings, and staying current in the discipline through professional development trainings.


Key Responsibilities

Teach courses in related fields assigned on campus and/or online. Provides timely feedback, respond to inquiries, and monitor student academic progress. Assist with curriculum development to maintain academic relevance and ensure course content remains academically relevant and aligned with program outcomes, institutional priorities, and accreditation guidelines. Work closely with department chairs, deans, and faculty to ensure policies, accreditation standards, and state or federal requirements are met.


Qualifications and Experience


  • Master’s degree with 2+ years will be considered, doctorate degree preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of college-level teaching experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis concepts and tools

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and instructional use

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and academic communication

  • Experience using the LMS (i.e. Canvas) platforms and instructional technology

  • Ability to manage multiple teaching and academic responsibilities effectively


Education


  • Master’s degree with 2+ years in the field will be considered; doctoral preferred.

Working Conditions


  • Office-based environment, with periods of high activity during scheduled building and registration cycles.

  • On campus assignments also included Saturday sessions based on need
