CRIMSON CORPORATION is seeking a part-time instructor for art courses in Nashville, TN. Responsibilities include guiding students in various art techniques and monitoring their progress. Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree and five years of professional experience, with teaching experience preferred.
The position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Courses meet once a week with flexible schedules available. Reliable commuting or relocation plans are necessary for candidates.
Nossi College of Art & Design is reviewing candidates for our Fall 2025 start. The instructor will guide students to create illustration in the narrative form, including storyboarding video productions, television commercials, and feature films. Students will also explore Concept Art to convey visual representation of design, idea and/or mood for use in films, video games, animation or comic books prior to final art.
An instructor will guide students weekly by drawing a figure model in class. The structure of the human body is taught by observing the skeleton. Understanding bone structure is essential to drawing the human figure accurately with emphasis on muscular development. Upon completion, students will produce professional drawings of anatomically correct figures, depict chiaroscuro, and emphasize value and placement using pencil, charcoal, pastel, conté and other mediums.
A drawing instructor will guide students through hands‑on practice, focusing on foundational techniques: shapes, proportions, perspective, line quality and form. Students will explore shading, depth, and texture, producing high‑quality sketches with techniques such as hatching and blending.
A color theory instructor will guide students through practical exercises on color relationships, color wheel, hue, saturation, value, harmonies and contrasts. Students will develop color schemes and apply color to evoke mood and depth with watercolor, acrylic, digital tools and other materials.
Courses meet once a week at one of the following times: 8‑12pm, 1‑5pm, or 6‑10pm. Monday to Thursday, 4‑hour shifts.
This is a campus‑based position in Nashville, TN. Work location: Madison, TN 37115 – candidates must reliably commute or plan to relocate.
