Job summary

Daytona State College invites applications for an adjunct flute instructor to teach applied flute in a college credit environment and to direct and advise a college/community flute choir spanning piccolo to contra-bass flutes.

The role includes recruiting potential music majors, delivering courses per college policies, and submitting timely grade reports. It is a part-time, temporary position for up to one semester at a time, filled based on enrollment and instructional need.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music from an accredited institution.
• 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.
• Experience teaching applied flute in a college credit environment.
• Experience directing and advising a college/community flute choir consisting of instruments from piccolo to contra-bass flutes.

• Teach applied flute in a college credit environment.
• Direct and advise a large college/community flute choir consisting of instruments from piccolo to contra-bass flutes.
• Assist in recruiting potential music majors.
• Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets.
• Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as scheduled or required.
• Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
• Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

Please Note: Adjunct positions are part-time, temporary assignments for no more than one (1) semester at a time. Opportunities are filled based on student enrollment and the instructional needs of the College.
