Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part-time Instructors for the Adult Education (non-credit) English as a Second Language program. Instructors will provide English language and cultural instruction at the Adult Learning Center in Rock Island, IL, and the Outreach Center in East Moline, IL.

Job description

Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part-time Instructors for the Adult Education (non-credit) English as a Second Language program. Instructor will provide English language and cultural instruction.

Openings available at the Adult Learning Center located in Rock Island, IL and the Outreach Center in East Moline, IL.

Review of applications will begin immediately. Using a provided curriculum, faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities to enhance the students’ educational experience; evaluate students’ performance; and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.

Bachelor’s degree required. Previous teaching experience or experience with ESL learners preferred.

Any instructor hired at Black Hawk College will be required to submit official transcripts at his/her own expense. Transcripts, once submitted, become property of Black Hawk College.

Pay

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (as of Fall 2024)

• Bachelor's Degree = $25.97 per contact hour


• Bachelor's +15 Degree = $28.14 per contact hour


• Masters = $30.30 per contact hour
