  • Employ teaching methods using appropriate technology across modalities to facilitate student learning.
  • Support diverse learners with responsive pedagogical techniques.
  • Examine and adapt instructional, relational, and classroom practices to engage and support students.
  • Engage in student consultation, course preparation, and syllabus development.
  • Provide prompt and constructive feedback to students via office hours and assessments.
  • Provide timely responses to student emails.
  • Adhere to reporting deadlines (grades, enrollment verification, syllabi, textbook adoption).
  • Participate in service to the college and community.

Minimum Education
  • Master's Degree in any Natural Science or a related field AND two years of relevant work experience
  • Qualifying fields: Atmospheric Science, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Earth Science, Ecology, Environmental Biology, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, Oceanography, Meteorology, Physical Geography
Minimum Experience/Training
  • Prior college teaching experience is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching.
  • All schedules require office hours and some may require evening and/or weekend hours.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, academic achievement, and persistence; (3) technological competence; and (4) the ability to use skills and strategies that engage students in ways that facilitate learning and prepare students for productive lives.
  • Employ teaching methods to accommodate various levels of academic preparation and incorporate appropriate and engaging technology across different modalities of instruction to facilitate student learning.
  • Facilitate the needs of different learners across programs by implementing responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices for engaging students.
  • Have a willingness to examine and adapt one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support students.
  • Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, and preparation of course syllabi.
  • Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback on assessments and activities.
  • Provide prompt feedback to student emails.
  • Adhere to all reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption.
