Job summary

Illinois Central College seeks an Adjunct Faculty- EMS Instructor at the Peoria Campus. The part-time position involves teaching EMS-related courses (EMR, EMT, Paramedic, CPR, First Aid, ITLS, ACLS, PALS) and maintaining syllabus adherence.

Expectation includes keeping regular office hours to promote student success and delivering instruction up to 12 contact hours per semester. The role requires teaching responsibly, coordinating with colleagues, and supporting a positive student experience

Qualifications

• EMT/EMS classes: 2 years' experience as an EMS provider.
• Current Illinois licensure as an EMS provider.
• ITLS, ACLS, PALS instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate courses with lecture and lab sessions, ensuring materials, tools, and safety standards are met.
• Follow syllabi for assigned courses communicating the expectations and schedule for the classwork.
• Maintain office hours and availability.
• Communicate with students working to ensure student success.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve the student experience for the college and community.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Description

Summary These courses include EMR, EMT, Paramedic, CPR, First Aid, Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Adjunct Faculty are primarily responsible for instructing assigned courses meeting classroom standards.

Adjunct Faculty must follow institutional syllabus.

Additionally, Adjunct Faculty will be required to maintain office hours to best ensure student success.

Adjunct Faculty teach on a part time basis up to 12 contact hours per semester.

Minimum Qualifications

• EMT/EMS classes: 2 years' experience as an EMS provider.
• Current Illinois licensure as an EMS provider.
• ITLS, ACLS, PALS instructor certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in related field.
• Current IDPH Lead Instructor license.
• Experience working in higher education.
• Experience teaching or training.
