Job summary

Illinois Central College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Biology courses at the East Peoria campus. Courses may include general education, allied-health related courses, and majors-level biology. Day and evening schedules may be available.

Adjunct faculty serve part-time, teaching up to 12 contact hours per spring or fall semester, with some summer availability. Adjunct faculty are responsible for instructing assigned courses meeting classroom standards and following institutional syllabi.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Biology required.
• Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or related, with up to 3 credit hours in biology education coursework.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate courses including lecture and/or lab-based classes, ensuring materials and safety standards.
• Follow syllabi and communicate expectations and schedules.
• Maintain office hours and be available for students.
• Communicate with students to support success.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve student experience.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Description: Summary Illinois Central College is looking for Adjunct Faculty to teach Biology Courses. Courses may include general education, allied-health related course, and majors-level biology. Day and Evening course schedules are available. If courses are available, adjuncts may continue to teach for future semesters. Adjunct Faculty are primarily responsible for instructing assigned courses meeting classroom standards. The Adjunct Faculty must follow institutional syllabi. Additionally, Adjunct Faculty will be required to maintain office hours to best ensure student success. Adjunct Faculty teach on a part time basis up to 12 contact hours per spring or fall semester, with some summer availability.
