Job summary

Ensign College in Salt Lake City seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Electrical to deliver instruction aligned with our program objectives and the college’s mission.

You will use immersive learning opportunities, follow a published syllabus, and assess students with diverse teaching methods while upholding standards and faith-based values.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Journe Electrician license required.
• Ability to effectively provide classroom instruction.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required training (FERPA, Title IX, etc.).
• Review all instructional materials (Teaching plans, syllabi, etc.).
• Support our unique learning and teaching framework.
• Create and execute immersive learning opportunities.
• Follow an approved course curriculum that includes measurable objectives for each course taught.
• Evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment.
• Maintain and submit timely and detailed student grade records.
• Attend one-on-ones and other meetings as necessary.
• Communicate concerns, suggestions, and recommendations to the program chair.

Adjunct Faculty - Electrical

Reports to: Dean of Applied Sciences

Effectively help students acquire the knowledge and skills associated with the designated program objectives. In addition to fulfilling these purposes, the Adjunct Faculty member continuously strives to advance Ensign College’s mission: to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.

Requirements for Employment Eligibility:

• Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
• Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.
• Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.
• Resides in Utah.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Journeyman or Master Journey Electrician license required.
• Working knowledge of federal/state government electrical and safety regulations.
• The candidate must have the ability to effectively provide classroom instruction.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Teaching and facilitation skills.
