Qualifications

• Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field appropriate to the program.
• Has one of the following: Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification or Three years of elementary or secondary teaching experience.
• Meets EDUC 224 Course Standard via one of four routes: Education program standard; Master’s or higher in Science Education; Master’s or higher in Education with 18 graduate/undergraduate hours in science; Master’s or higher in any natural or physical science with professional certification or three years of K-12 teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Utilize technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Adapt lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly to impact learning and experience at Ivy Tech.
• Promote inclusive environment respecting diversity of students and staff.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
