Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College seeks an adjunct instructor for the Dietetic Technology program. Teaches a full range of courses including basic nutrition, nutrition care, MNT, community nutrition, geriatric nutrition, and food service management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Nutrition/Food.
  • Must be registered dietitian and licensed in Ohio.
  • CDR professional development portfolio maintenance required.
  • Minimum 3 years medical nutrition therapy experience in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).
  • Advanced communication and organizational skills; ability to respond to community needs.

  • Creates syllabi, assignments, and handouts.
  • Evaluates and grades coursework and exams; maintains attendance and records.
  • Coaches students and coordinates with supervisors for teaching duties and development.
  • Participates in meetings with division or College regarding duties and development.

Special Note: This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Job Description

Teaches a full range of courses in the Dietetic Technology Program such as basic nutrition, nutrition care, medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, geriatric nutrition and food service management.

  • Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
  • Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
  • Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
  • Be available to students for coaching
  • Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Food/Nutrition or; master’s degree in a related field (i.e., public health, family and consumer studies, community nutrition, restaurant administration, education) with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Nutrition/Food.
  • Must be a currently registered dietitian, licensed in the state of Ohio
  • Maintain CDR required professional development portfolio
  • Minimum 3 years medical nutrition therapy experience in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience

Special Note

This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $951.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
