Job summary

Harper College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach BIO 230 Microbiology in-person, delivering both lectures and laboratory sessions. Schedule includes Monday and Wednesday evenings for Fall 2026. A Master’s degree in Biology with microbiology teaching experience is required.

Applicants should have recent college teaching experience and be proficient with Blackboard or similar course management systems. Official transcripts and a background check are required.

• College-level teaching experience in biology courses.
• Experience teaching microbiology in both lecture and lab.
• Familiarity with Blackboard or similar LMS.

Responsibilities

• Teach BIO 230 Microbiology in-person, lecture and laboratory sessions.

Schedule Information : In-person instruction Monday andWednesday evenings, Fall 2026

Job Description : Teaching BIO 230 Microbiology; in-person, lecture and laboratory sessions

Education Requirements : Master’s degree in Biology withexperience teaching microbiology; or a master’s degree in a relatedfield with at least 18 graduate credit hours in biological science,plus experience teaching microbiology..

Experience Requirements : Recent college-level teachingexperience in both lecture and lab environments, and ability towork with course management systems such as Blackboard are thepreferred qualifications.

Required Documents : A resume and cover letter arerequired to complete the application process
