Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach cybersecurity, information assurance, or related courses. The position is part-time and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities include preparing syllabi and course materials, delivering learning activities, and assessing students. Strong communication and office software skills are required, with a CCNA/CCAI focus preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
• CCAI Certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.

• Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Maintains and submits attendance records, grades and documentation by deadlines.
• Be available to students for coaching.
• Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division or College regarding teaching duties.

Job Description

• Teaches course specific to Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Network Defense, Computer Science or Information Security.

• Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Assurance or Information Security, or related field; Background in one or more of the following areas: information security, information assurance, cybersecurity, digital forensics, secure application development
• Minimum of 2 years industry/business experience in related field
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
• Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Appropriately responds to the needs of the community
• Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience
• CCNA Certification

Special Note: This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $951/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
