The instructor will use varied teaching methods, support online or hybrid formats, develop syllabi and materials, and provide timely feedback while upholding academic integrity and inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Speech, or a closely related field.
• Or a Bachelor's in another discipline with 18 graduate credits in Communication or related field.

Responsibilities

• Teach COM160 – Communication in accordance with course outlines and learning outcomes.
• Deliver engaging instruction using lectures, discussions, presentations, group activities, and assessments.
• Maintain attendance and grade records; submit reports by deadlines.

The instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction that promotes effective oral, interpersonal, and professional communication skills while ensuring course content aligns with institutional and accreditation standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTeach assigned Communication (COM160) courses in accordance with approved course outlines, objectives, and learning outcomes.Deliver engaging instruction using lectures, discussions, presentations, group activities, and assessments.Employ varied instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles, including technology-enhanced and online teaching methods.Develop, update, and maintain course syllabi, assignments, and instructional materials in compliance with institutional guidelines.Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently; provide timely, constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.Maintain accurate attendance and grade records and submit required reports by established deadlines.Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, confidence, and effective communication skills.Hold office hours or provide academic support to students as required.Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as assigned.Uphold academic integrity and enforce all institutional policies and procedures.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSExperience teaching Communication or related subjects in an educational setting.Experience teaching online or hybrid courses preferred.Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle).Strong knowledge of oral, interpersonal, group, and professional communication principles.Ability to design and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction.Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management skills.Commitment to student success, equity, and academic excellence.Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and academic leadership.QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Communication, Speech, or a closely related field , ORBachelor’s degree in another discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Communication or a related field .Prior postsecondary teaching experience preferred.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Experience working with diverse student populations, including adult learners and first-generation college students, preferred.
