Waubonsee Community College seeks an adjunct faculty member for the Communications program at Sugar Grove Campus. The role involves delivering curriculum in on-site courses such as COM 100: Fundamentals of Speech and MCM 140 Television/Media Production, with hybrid delivery options where applicable.

Responsibilities include designing syllabi and assessments, meeting deadlines for attendance and grading, and integrating instructional technology to enhance learning.

Formación

• Master's degree in Communications or related field with 18 graduate hours in Communications.
• Experience teaching at a community college or vocational institution preferred.
• Experience with multiple instructional modalities and LMS.
• Ability to design syllabi and assessments aligned with outcomes.

• Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description as well as program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student’s needs as diverse learners.
• Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
• Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
• Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
• Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
• Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. Adjuncts will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes, however Waubonsee does not accept applications for fully remote instructors.

COM 100: Fundamentals of Speech - Traditional Face-to-face - 8 - 9:15 a.m. T/TH

Hybrid - MCM 140 Television/Media Production - 12:30 - 2:10 p.m. T/TH

Minimum Experience

Master's degree in Communications or a Masters Degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in Communications.

Preferred Experience

• Teaching Communications, or a related field, at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
• Teaching traditionally underserved populations.
• Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.
• Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
• Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
