Job summary

College of Southern Maryland seeks part-time temporary faculty in the Department of English, Communication, and Languages to teach communication courses and contribute to the Early College program.

Responsibilities include delivering face-to-face classes from 8:15 am to 2:00 pm, two to four days a week, and addressing a range of communication topics with engaging instructional methods. The pool process applies as needs arise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the discipline of instruction OR Master's in related field AND 15 hours in the discipline OR Sufficient experience in lieu of either requirement, as approved by VPAA.
• Subject matter/content expertise in the Communication field and ability to demonstrate this expertise in a teaching presentation.
• This person should possess enthusiasm and passion for student learning and student services and be able to respond to the needs of students using a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Teach communication courses in areas such as Communication Theory, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Multicultural Communication, and other communication-discipline courses.
• Contribute to the Early College program with face-to-face classes 8:15 am–2:00 pm, two to four days a week.
