Job summary

Mercy University invites applications for clinical teaching opportunities in Nursing at the Bronx and Dobbs Ferry campuses. Adjunct faculty will teach clinical instruction across Fundamentals, Pediatric, Parent Child, Medical-Surgical, Psychiatric, and Community Health areas.

Positions are adjunct and may involve up to two clinical courses per semester, with course assignments based on campus needs. Relocation is not provided, and official transcripts will be required if selected.

Qualifications

  • Potential to teach up to two clinical courses per semester; assignments depend on campus needs.
  • Mentor students in a diverse clinical setting.

Job description

Mercy University is seeking applicants for clinical teachingopportunities in Nursing at our Bronx and Dobbs Ferrycampuses.

These positions require the ability to teach clinical instructionin the generic nursing program in the following clinical areas:Fundamentals, Pediatric, Parent Child, Medical Surgical,Psychiatric, and Community Health clinical experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking adjunct teachingopportunities who wish to teach up to two clinical courses persemester in a culturally diverse setting, when courses areavailable. Course assignments are dependent upon the needs of theCollege each semester.

Adjunct faculty are not eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience isrequired
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective clinical instructionand mentorship
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonalskills
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) recommended; nationalcertification in a clinical specialty area preferred
  • Current, unencumbered New York State RN license required

Unofficial transcripts will be accepted but, if selected, officialtranscripts will be required.

Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on asemi-monthly pay cycle.
