Job summary

Aims Community College is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach chemistry courses across campus locations, including Fort Lupton. The faculty role emphasizes teaching, with occasional travel and scholarship in service of student success.

The selected candidate will teach day and evening classes, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to program assessment. A master’s degree in chemistry or related field with appropriate graduate credits is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemistry or related field with content-specific graduate coursework (12 credits) or a master’s degree with 18 graduate chemistry credits.
• Experience teaching at the college level is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach chemistry courses as assigned, potentially across multiple chemistry subjects.
• Assist in program/curriculum evaluation and development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and textbook/resource evaluation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Academic Dean.

Job description

Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit.

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.

Part-time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.

Job Description:

The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. Occasional travel may be required.

Job Duties:

• Instruct assignments which may include a variety of courses in Chemistry depending on the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Assist in program/curriculum evaluation, articulation, revision and development.
• Participate in on-going professional development.
• Assist with evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resource materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and the Academic Dean.

Work Hours:

• Teach day and/or evening classes at Greeley campus or satellite campuses in Loveland and Fort Lupton.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, molecular biology, or a closely related discipline (master’s degree must show at least 12 credits in content-specific graduate-level courses) OR master’s degree including 18 graduate level credit hours in chemistry.
