Job summary

College of DuPage seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on campus in Glen Ellyn, IL. The successful candidate will plan and deliver instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings and evaluate students in a timely manner.

The role may involve online or hybrid delivery; two years RN experience and nursing education credentials are required. On-campus only; background check will be conducted. Stipend-based per course assignments.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing with BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 4 CEU's of approved Alzheimer's Training or BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN). Must have experience as a RN in teaching theory or providing nursing care to older adults or chronically ill adults.
• This position is on-campus only, no remote offerings.

COD faculty are committed to facilitate and support student success in learning. We strive to meet the individual educational needs of our unique, multicultural campus.

The successful adjunct candidate will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may exist to teach a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days, evenings and weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing with BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 4 CEU's of approved Alzheimer's Training or BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification or MSN with 4 CEU's of approved Alzheimer's Training or BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN). Must have experience as a RN in at least one of the following areas: 1. teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or 2. providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults.
• This position is on-campus only, no remote offerings.

Licenses and Certifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse License required.
• Current AHA BLS healthcare provider certification required.

Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred. Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate ability to teach online required.

These positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.
