Pratt Institute in New York invites applications for a pool of part-time faculty in History of Art and Design for Fall 2026 to teach Art History Survey, Design History, Asian Art, African Art, Latin American/Pre-Columbian Art, and New Media on Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses.

Qualifications

Art History Survey Courses: we require that candidates have an MA in the History of Art or the History of Design; ABD or PhD, and teaching experience beyond the TA level is preferred.

History of Design Survey Courses: we require that candidates have an MA in the History of Design or the History of Art; ABD or PhD, and teaching experience beyond the TA level is preferred.

Asian Art, African Art, Latin American/Pre-Columbian Art, New Media: we require that candidates be at least ABD, PhD and teaching experience are preferred.

Pay Rate: $1,800 - $1,950 per contact hour
