Prairie State College seeks an energetic Art Appreciation instructor to join our face-to-face adjunct faculty at the Chicago Heights campus for the Spring 2027 semester. Morning and Evening classes are available.

Successful candidates will teach, prepare, assess student learning, and collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to enhance the student learning experience. Proficiency with technology-based instructional tools is required.

Qualifications

• MA in Art History or MA in Art with 15 graduate hours in Art History, or MFA in a Visual Arts discipline, or any Master’s degree with 18 hours in the discipline.

Candidates must be able to utilize a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction.

Minimum Qualifications

MA in Art History, MA in Art (with 15 graduate hours in Art History), MFA in a Visual Arts Discipline, or any Master’s Degree with 18 hours in the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching at the community college level is preferred.

Salary

Adjunct faculty members at PSC are paid by the number of hours they are in the classroom (contact hours). Pay Schedule for new adjunct faculty: $972.38 per credit hour
