Eastern Iowa Community College District invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty, American Sign Language (ASL) to teach ASL and Interpreter Prep across multiple sites and online. This part-time position emphasizes student outcomes and flexible delivery.
The role requires a Master’s in ASL or certification in Interpreter Prep, or a Master’s with sufficient ASL/ITP credits; teaching excellence and service to the college are essential.

Location: Scott Community College and online learning
Salary: $700.00 per credit hour; EICC retirees $1000 per credit hour.
Responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in American Sign Language or Interpreter Prep. Assignments may include alternative delivery methods, evening courses, and multiple sites. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service and a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.
Minimum: Master’s degree in American Sign Language and/or certification in Interpreter Prep, or a master’s with at least 12 credits in a combination of the qualifying fields that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught (a minimum of 6 credits must be from ASL/ITP). Those with less than 18 credits in ASL/ITP must be fluent in ASL and have ASL language teaching (oral and written) experience.
Previous teaching experience.
The teacher must see and hear on a continuous basis as well as speak frequently. Positions may vary from standing, sitting, or walking.
