Adjunct Faculty, 3D Animation
Principal Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach courses in 3D Animation to a multicultural student population, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community‑college students and departmental learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback that reflects program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services that respect diversity and do not discriminate based on any protected category.
- Maintain current knowledge in the field through professional development activities.
- Perform related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, or senior administrators.
- Serve on college‑wide and departmental committees as needed.
- Train students to fill entry‑level industry positions or to gain entry into 4‑year programs in 3D Modeling or Game Development.
- Maintain and update the 3D Animation curriculum to meet industry needs.
- Review and recommend resources to enhance the learning environment.
- Encourage and inspire student and local interest in 3D Animation.
Required Education
- Associate degree in Game Development or a related discipline (Game Design, Creative Writing, Film Production, Programming, Studio Art, Animation).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in 3D Animation, 3D Modeling & Rendering, Video Game Art, or Fine Art Studio Art with a strong emphasis in 3D Animation.
Required Work Experience
- Three years of non‑teaching, industry‑related work experience within the game development industry (SACSCOC requirements may vary).
