Frederick Community College invites applications for an Adjunct, English as a Second Language. Instructors teach in the Basic ESL Program for adult learners 18+. Classes run weekdays and Saturdays with both daytime and evening hours.
The role requires adapting teaching styles to a diverse, multicultural setting. Essential duties include planning lessons, delivering interactive English instruction, assessing students, maintaining records, and supporting grant compliance.
Adjunct, English as a Second Language
ESL instructors provide instruction in the grant-funded Basic English as a Second Language Program and are responsible for providing instruction in English to adult learners, age 18 and older. The Basic ESL Program offers literacy, beginning, intermediate, and advanced life skills English courses. Classes are offered on weekdays and Saturdays to include both daytime and evening hours. Instructors must demonstrate the ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
