Job summary

Delgado Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach electrical courses on the New Orleans campus. You will prepare course or laboratory lectures and hold on-site office hours to support student learning and engagement.

The role requires at least five years of electrician experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to complete mandated training and background checks. A technical degree is preferred for advancement within the program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician.
• Preferred: Certificate of Technical Studies or Associates Degree or higher.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed journeyman electrician or higher.
• Background screening required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide course or laboratory lectures.
• Hold on-campus office hours (30 minutes per lecture/lab) on-site.
• Prepare and grade examinations.
• Maintain class records and report grades.
• Participate in formative class evaluations and end-of-semester evaluations.
• Complete mandated employee training/professional development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Within the scope of their duties, Adjunct Faculty are expected to:

• prepare and provide course or laboratory lectures;
• hold office hours in the amount of (30) minutes per lecture/lab course on-campus/site at times convenient for students;
• prepare and grade examinations;
• maintain class records and report grades;
• participate in formative class evaluations and an end-of-the-semester/session evaluation session;
• and complete all required/mandated employee training/professional development, as applicable.

Required Education:

Required Experience:

Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician.

Preferred Education:

Certificate of Technical Studies or Associates Degree or higher

Preferred Experience:

Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed journeyman electrician or higher.

Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
