Ogeechee Technical College invites applications for an Adjunct Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor. Under general supervision, you will prepare lesson plans, develop program goals, and evaluate student progress within the DMS program, ensuring compliance with standards and accreditation.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Sonography or closely related field.
  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid clinical work experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer (abdomen, obstetric, gynecologic, superficial parts).
  • ARDMS certification.
  • RDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
  • RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist.
  • Other Specialty Areas: AB, VT, BR, FE, NE, OB/GYN, AE, or PE.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Develop program and syllabi, goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate students' progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare budget requests.
  • Develop course outlines, class presentations, and ensure compliance with institutional, TCSG, and accreditation standards.

Education

Job Description

Position Title: Adjunct Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor

Position Description: Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Performs related academic duties including, but not limited to, developing course outlines, class presentations, and ensuring compliance with institutional, TCSG, and accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Sonography or closely related field.
  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid clinical work experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer (abdomen, obstetric, gynecologic, superficial parts).
  • National certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • RDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
  • RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist
  • Other Specialty Areas: AB, VT, BR, FE, NE, OB/GYN, AE, or PE
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques
