Job description

Provide quality instruction for public speaking courses. The course, consisting of 2.5 lecture hours with an additional 30 minutes of asynchronous online hours each week, is taught in-person at our local Dowagiac High School on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:25 a.m. to 9:18 a.m.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, English, or education along with graduate credit hours towards a Masters degree in communications, speech or similar field.
• Excellent Organization and Communication skills.
• Demonstrated use of instructional technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching Experience at the high school or college level
• Online teaching certification
• Master's degree in Communications/ Speech or similar

Other Information

All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.

Physical Requirements

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
