Job summary

Union University seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Music – Commercial Music (Guitar) to teach applied commercial guitar and related courses on a part-time basis at the Jackson, Tennessee campus.

The instructor will lead ensemble coaching, teach in CMU sequence, and contribute to a variety of guitar styles. Responsibilities include directing student chamber groups and performing with university ensembles as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance or Pedagogy required; experience teaching undergraduate-level guitar.
• Ability to work in a team leadership setting and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to teach Commercial Music Theory or Musicianship/Aural Skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied commercial guitar and related courses.
• Provide direction for student chamber groups and ensembles.
• Perform in university ensembles as directed.
