Job summary
Union University seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Music - Commercial Music (Voice) to teach applied voice courses for Music Education, Commercial Music, and Worship Leadership on the Jackson campus.
The successful candidate will train students in belt singing, studio vocal techniques, and various styles (Classical, Commercial, Gospel, Jazz, Contemporary Worship). Opportunities to coach ensembles and supervise student recitals are available.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Vocal Performance, Commercial Voice, or equivalent.
- Ability to teach undergraduate-level voice and supervise recitals.
- Commercial singing experience in studio contexts.
- Live professional performance in commercial and classical genres.
- Ability to accompany students on piano from written music and charts/Nashville Numbers.
Responsibilities
- Teach primary and secondary applied voice for Music Education, Commercial Music, and Worship Leadership.
- Apply coaching for vocal ensembles and supervise student recitals.
- Perform in Faculty Concerts and University ensembles as directed.
- Provide supervision for Junior and Senior Recitals and Projects.
- Additional duties may be assigned based on department needs.
