Job summary

Del Mar College seeks adjunct instructors to teach lower-division, non-major chemistry courses and laboratories across various times and locations as needed. The positions support online and dual-credit formats as required.

A Master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in Chemistry is required; teaching experience in college settings is preferred, along with capability to use instructional technologies for instruction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.
• Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.
• Experience teaching at college level preferred.
• Experience using instructional technologies and online resources in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
• Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Maintain safe and secure laboratories with emphasis on safety.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, specimens, and equipment.
• Perform other related duties within the department as assigned.
