Job summary

  • Draft email campaigns, flyers, and website content.
  • Coordinate outreach activities; represent team at events and outreach opportunities.
  • Ensure messaging is accessible and culturally responsive to families and caregivers.
  • Provide administrative support including meeting notes and calendar management.
  • Manage team credit card usage; arrange travel through university systems.

Job description

Under general supervision of Children’s Behavioral Health Program and Grant Manager, perform a variety of duties in support of the Children’s Behavioral Health Team including management of office supplies, event planning and on‑site support, meeting operational support, marketing, and promotion. Can use independent judgement in applying/adapting departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures, and where applicable, knowledge of sponsored programs.

Duties/Responsibilities
Event Support (50%)
  • Schedule, reserve space, and set up virtual meetings in Microsoft Teams
  • Manage registration
  • Communicate with event attendees
  • Purchase and coordinate materials and catering
  • Provide day‑of operational support
  • Manage and report training attendance and evaluation data
Marketing, Communications, & Outreach (40%)
  • Draft email campaigns, flyers, and website content.
  • Coordinate appropriate outreach and marketing activities as assigned; represent the team at events and outreach opportunities.
  • Ensure messaging is accessible, culturally responsive, and appropriate for families and caregivers.
Program and Administrative Support (10%)
  • Provide administrative support to program staff and leadership, including meeting notes and managing team calendar.
  • Maintain the team credit card, purchase supplies through appropriate University systems, and make travel arrangements for team staff.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: High school graduation and four years of related experience involving duties of increasing responsibility requiring discretion and independent judgement, or associate degree and two years or related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to four years.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High degree of organization, self‑motivation, attention to detail, and initiative. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and external partners. Skilled in content creation, email marketing, and social media. Proficiency in Microsoft suite and Adobe Travel as required in project area.

Preferred Qualifications: Marketing and/or social media experience preferred. Experience related to children’s behavioral health, mental health services, or family services preferred.

Compensation Pay Range: $21-$24/hour

Location: Durham

Salary Grade: Adjunct Hourly Staff 00

As such, continued employment in this role is contingent upon the availability of those external funds. If, for any reason, the sponsor funding is reduced or discontinued, employment may be subject to modification or termination in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
