Job summary

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking an Adjunct Automotive Technology Instructor to teach automotive technology courses at the West Monroe, LA campus. The role involves up to 29 hours per week of instruction during regular semesters, with day, afternoon, evening, and weekend availability as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a technical diploma or higher in automotive technology or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant industry experience and ASE certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 29 hours per week during regular academic semesters as needed.
• Provide instruction during day, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes when applicable.
• Deliver engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory training in automotive technology, vehicle service and repair, and automotive systems diagnosis and maintenance.
• Incorporate industry best practices, safety procedures, and modern automotive technologies into instruction.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and faculty to develop and revise course curriculum.
• Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that support course objectives; accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Emphasize proper safety procedures and shop practices; utilize instructional technology and equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruction & Student Learning

• Teach up to 29 hours per week during regular academic semesters as needed.
• Provide instruction during day, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes when applicable.
• Delivering engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory training in:

Required Education

The preferred qualifications for this position are a technical diploma or higher in automotive technology or a closely related field, 5 years of current relevant experience in the automotive repair industry, and hold at least one earned ASE certification. The minimum qualifications for the position are a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of current relevant experience.
