Job summary

OSU-Oklahoma City seeks an experienced interpreter-educator to instruct and mentor students toward becoming professional ASL interpreters. The role blends theory and hands-on training, ensuring readiness for real-world tasks across settings.

You will foster critical thinking and community contribution while maintaining records and curriculums. The candidate will teach at the college level, develop curricula, and lead practical exercises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interpretation, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Deaf Studies, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional ASL interpreting experience with both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
• Experience in diverse interpreting settings (medical, legal, conference, community, or business).
• College-level teaching experience and curriculum development capability.
• Meet qualifications per Higher Learning Commission standards and demonstrate leadership in a discipline.
• External accreditation experience may be required for some programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student and course records and update the learning management system.
• Develop course outlines, objectives, and grading procedures.
• Exhibit innovative and adaptive instructional methods.
• Complete mandatory training and adhere to the Adjunct Handbook.
• Fulfill program requirements and perform related duties as assigned.
• Engage with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends when needed.
