Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or native ASL signer with earned college credit.
• Experience teaching ASL and/or Interpreting in education/community/agency settings.
• Experience using educational technology and/or distance learning.
• Experience implementing curriculum in courses.
• Evidence of collaboration with school systems, community agencies or organizations.
• Professional involvement in the field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Ability to interact with academic, business and regulatory personnel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction with a learning-centered approach and prepare lessons.
• Prepare course materials and lessons; adjust preparation time by experience.
• Provide clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines via outlines and syllabi.
• Assign relevant tasks demonstrating learning outcomes in real-life settings.
• Engage students and foster participation with mutual respect.
• Maintain grade books, assessments, and final exams on a timely basis.
• Ensure learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
• Maintain records of student progress and provide access upon request.
• Support all aspects of the learning environment and adapt teaching style as needed.
• Promote student success with flexible schedules and passion for teaching.
