Job summary

The University of New Mexico’s Department of Anthropology seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. Openings cover Archaeology, Evolutionary Anthropology, Sociocultural and Linguistic Anthropology, among others.

Adjuncts may be eligible for UNM benefits; appointments are temporary and part-time with responsibilities including delivering course curriculum, developing and grading assignments, and reporting grades.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Anthropology or the subfield for which you are applying.
  • Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver course curriculum.
  • Develop and grade assignments.
  • Report grades and assess student learning outcomes as outlined by the Chair of the department.
  • Maintain contact with students during assigned times.
