Job summary

Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake (ADKX), USA, offers four one-month residencies in 2027 (June–September). Artists will work in public spaces, dedicating at least 6 hours daily and engaging visitors with their creative process.

Two days weekly are in the Art Lab, crafting activities visitors can take home in under five minutes. A $5,000 stipend and a $500 travel allowance are provided, with on-site housing and shuttle services.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop your own body of work within public areas of the museum grounds for at least three days per week, guiding visitors and sharing your process.
• Spend two days each week in the Art Lab (10am–4:30pm) to work on personal projects and design drop-in participatory activities for visitors (minimum 5 minutes to complete).
• Coordinate with ADKX curatorial staff for limited study, sketching and documentation time in the collection storage areas.
