Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an experienced Adhesives Engineer to join the Total Vehicle Development Team in the Material Development Department.

The role focuses on adhesive development for North and South American production vehicles, collaborating with suppliers, design, manufacturing, and purchasing teams. The candidate will validate adhesives and sealers, perform QA teardowns, and support manufacturing locations with quality issues, travel up to 15%, and lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in adhesives, chemical engineering, chemistry, material science, polymers and coatings technology, polymer science/engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in adhesives and/or sealer engineering, coatings, or materials.
• Experience evaluating adhesive properties and validating processes.
• Ability to explain technical topics to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Validate adhesives, sealers, and waxes for North and South American sites through cross-functional teams.
• Perform vehicle QA teardowns and evaluations of current production adhesives.
• Support issue resolution with manufacturing locations and suppliers.
• Analyze adhesive performance and determine root causes with countermeasures.
• Contribute to development of testing methods and material specs for adhesives.
• Investigate new adhesive technologies and collaborative R&D with suppliers.
