Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks a Materials Engineer to join the Strategic Materials Team within the Material Development Department, focusing on flexible material technologies for North and South American production vehicles.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, purchasing, and Hyundai R&D in Korea to drive material innovations and quality improvements. The role requires a chemistry/materials background, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel up

Qualifications

• Experience with polymeric materials used in automotive components.
• Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate new soft trim material technologies and production polymeric materials for future vehicle launches.
• Identify new materials technology projects and oversee from concept to production.
• Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and implement improvements.
• Conduct periodic audit testing of material performance and benchmark competitors.
• Direct lab technicians during material testing and report findings to management.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
