Job summary

Meridian Adhesives Group in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks a hands-on Production Technician to keep packaging lines moving and ready for the next run. You’ll clean, tear down, rebuild components, and assist maintenance with daily tasks on a fast-paced line.

The role is 1st Shift (Mon-Thu 5:00 am–3:30 pm) with starting pay of $19.00 per hour and a productivity incentive plan that can add up to $1,520 yearly. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs continuously and work overtime as needed.
• 1st shift availability and willingness to work on-site in Fort Wayne.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning parts, tearing down and rebuilding machine components.
• Removing and replacing 55-gallon drums on packaging machinery.
• Troubleshooting equipment problems and performing light mechanical fixes.
• Preparing production lines for upcoming jobs and assisting maintenance with daily tasks.
• Maintaining organized, clean work areas and switching change parts as needed.
• Collaborating with machine operators, line leads, and maintenance; contributing in meetings, safety programs, training, presentations, and other team/plant goals.
• Staying flexible and ready to help wherever needed.

A day on the floor

• 5:00 am: Review the day’s schedule, stage change parts, and prepare packaging equipment for upcoming jobs.
• Morning: Tear down assemblies, clean components thoroughly, and rebuild to spec. Swap 55-gallon drums safely and efficiently.
• Midday: Diagnose issues across equipment, perform minor fixes, and elevate as needed. Coordinate closely with operators, line leads, and maintenance.
• Afternoon: Organize work areas, complete changeovers, verify readiness for the next run, and document activity. Join team huddles, safety talks, or training sessions.

What you’ll own

Schedule, pay, and location

• Location: Fort Wayne
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am–3:30 pm
• Pay: Starting hourly range of $19.00 per hour. The above range represents the expected hourly range for this position. The actual hourly rate may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
• Bonus Pay: HOURLY Meridian is actively participating in a productivity incentive plan for 2026. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
