Job summary

Coinbase seeks an experienced Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its Abu Dhabi subsidiary. This founding role will construct the AML/CTF/PF/Sanctions program in a high-growth market and shape regulatory strategy with FSRA/ADGM, balancing compliance with innovation.

You will own the AML program, manage FSRA relations, advise product teams on local requirements, and coordinate with global teams to keep controls consistent and integrated.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AML/CTF compliance experience with senior leadership.
• Knowledge of UAE/ADGM FSRA requirements and related exams.
• Experience building and administering internal controls with remote, global teams.
• Proven ability to engage regulators, vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Crypto/fintech domain experience preferred.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own identification and implementation of AML/CTF/PF and Sanctions requirements for the ADGM entity; maintain policies and procedures.
• Monitor FSRA and UAE regulatory developments and lead corresponding compliance changes.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and the entity's Board on AML/CTF/PF/Sanctions; lead training for local staff and Board members.
• Lead day-to-day regulatory communications with the FSRA; oversee risk assessments of AML/CTF/PF controls.
• Oversee remediation of findings from internal audits, regulatory exams, and self-identified issues.
• Partner with Compliance and Product teams to embed compliance in new products and market expansions; align with global teams.
