Job summary

RANDOLPH COUNTY DSS is seeking an Addressing Coordinator in Asheboro, NC to manage the E-911 addressing system, assist with permitting, and support planning initiatives. You will create and maintain maps, track road changes, and ensure accurate addressing for public safety.

The role requires an Associates/Technical degree with GIS coursework and 1–3 years' GIS experience, plus strong cartographic knowledge. The position is full-time and on-site with the Planning and Zoning department.

Qualifications

• Experience with a geographic information system in planning or public safety.
• Ability to create and maintain maps and GIS datasets.
• Strong knowledge of cartographic principles and GIS data structures.
• Ability to train staff and communicate with the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff and public with addressing and E-911 addresses.
• Maintain backup GIS files and reference resources.
• Notify about addressing ordinance and updates.
• Create new map locations and track road changes.
• Assist permitting counter.
• Create maps for public hearings and neighborhood information meetings.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations.
