Job Description ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

As an Additive Manufacturing Technician at Freeform, you will play a critical role in the post-processing of 3D printed parts for the world's most advanced additive manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for everything required to go from finished print to shipping parts out to customers, including powder handling, EDM operation, support removal, surface finishing, inspection, and more. We seek someone with extreme attention to detail and a keen eye for process improvements to help Freeform scale to mass production. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment, take pride in their work, and have a no-job-too-big-or-small mentality.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate, maintain, and monitor machinery such as wire EDMs, surface grinders, sand blasters, deburring tools, bandsaws, and handle metal powders.
2. Post-process printed parts, including depowering, precision cleaning, removing supports, and surface-finishing.
3. Participate in process improvement efforts to streamline post-processing operations for mass production.
4. Ensure powders, tools, and equipment are available at all times to facilitate build turnover.
5. Assist with visual inspection and shipment of final parts.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in metal additive manufacturing process support or precision deburring of machined parts.

Nice to Have:

• Experience operating complex equipment.
• Skills in manual machining, welding, cutting, fitting, and bending of stainless steels, aluminum, and high-strength nickel alloys.
• Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to climb ladders and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Safety-conscious attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation:

• Estimated pay range: $25-$40/hour, depending on experience and skills, inclusive of all levels within this discipline.
