Job summary

Quala Inc. seeks an Additive Manufacturing Technician to join our prototyping team in Redmond, WA. This on-site role offers hands-on work in a state-of-the-art lab with multiple Stratasys PolyJet printers.

You will process printed parts, prep machines for daily production, perform routine maintenance, and support the complete PolyJet workflow. Cross-training to pre-process data and operate other AM technologies is possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with hands-on model-making or shop experience.
• Manufacturing technician experience and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Experience processing FDM, SLA, or SLS parts and post-processing.
• Experience performing quality control in prototyping environments.

Job Description: Additive Manufacturing Technician

QUALA is seeking an Additive Manufacturing technician to join our prototyping team. This is an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art lab with a team that is focused on the development of hardware for next generation consumer electronic devices. This is an on-site role in Redmond, WA.

Role Overview

The lab operates six Stratasys PolyJet printers: three J750 systems and three J850 systems.

This position will be primarily responsible for processing printed parts, preparing printers for daily production, performing routine equipment maintenance, and keeping the lab clean, organized, and production-ready. The technician will work closely with the Additive Manufacturing Lead (FTE) and the AM service team to support the complete PolyJet workflow.

While processing parts, machine readiness and maintenance will remain the technician’s primary responsibilities. We are seeking a versatile individual who can be cross-trained to pre-process print data, prepare builds, and operate other AM technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS). This capability will provide greater flexibility, production coverage, and continuity within the AM service team.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma AND 2+ years model-making or shop experience, including building and machining appearance models or prototypes OR equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience as a manufacturing technician.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Experience processing FDM, SLA, or SLS parts.
• Experience post-processing parts with a variety of finishes.
• Experience performing quality control in a production or prototyping environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or Bachelor's degree AND 2+ years model-making or shop experience, including building and machining appearance models or prototypes OR equivalent experience.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting PolyJet 3D printers.
• Experience preparing 3D model data for additive manufacturing.
• Experience with PolyJet build-preparation, slicing, nesting, or printer-management software.
• Preferred experience in one or more of the packages below:
• Formlabs PreForm
• Materialize Magics
• Stratasys GrabCAD
• Experience pre-processing PolyJet, SLA, FDM, and SLS parts.
